Prp Treatment

Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP)

This method, used in Europe, United States and East, is based on the use of a blood plasma concentrate including platelets, leukocytes, cytokines and growth factors in order to help hair growth. It has been used for many years in various fields of medicine, for example to speed up the healing of wounds, soft tissue and other medical conditions.

Why is the PRP method used in hair?

It must be said that this method is rather innovative and is used to counteract hair loss and their structure becoming weaker and thinner, due to androgenetic alopecia. Thus, this technique helps to prevent hair loss by making it stronger.

Apart from this, the PRP method is normally used together with all types of hair transplants, in order to maximize surgery outcomes. This method promotes the healing of patients’ scalp, positively influencing the growth and development of implanted hair follicles.

The use of the PRP method, together with FUE hair transplantation, allows the hair tissue to regenerate more rapidly, increasing the growth phase of the hair follicles which remain longer. This way, new blood vessels are generated in the receiving region which promote adequate nourishment of the implanted follicles.

How is it done?

It starts with the patient’s blood sampling, followed by its centrifugation in order to separate the PRP from the other structures present in it. Lastly, the application must be carried out by expert personnel.

This treatment must be done several times, according to the indications of the team of hair transplant specialists.

Who can benefit from this treatment?

All men and women with problems of falling or thinning hair can take advantage of this treatment.
